A bit of a different blog post today...as my little blog has just turned one. What a crazy, exciting and wonderful 12 months it has been. In the past 365 days I have moved three times to three different cities, started a blog, met and connected with the most wonderful and generous people from all corners on the globe, got married, made some wonderful new lifelong friends, expanded my knowledge on all things skincare and have really just had a really amazing time along the way.
Blogging isn't glamorous (who ever said it was is lying), it takes a lot of time and a lot of patience but it is also so rewarding in the way of the people you meet and cross paths with and it is also so much fun. I truly enjoy writing each and every blog post and I feel that I am always challenged to learn something new or think a little differently. My little blog is a passion and I really enjoy what I do and a huge part of it is due to each and every one of you - a fellow blogger, a company, a CEO, an every day person, a mother, a sister basically anyone who I have interacted with or has in some shape of form interacted with me.
I actually can't believe orchids and peonies is having its one year birthday.
I never thought anyone would ever want to read about what I have to say about skincare or my thoughts and opinions on products. I didn't even think there were people out there, who like me, loves skincare and treat it like a hobby. Thank you to each and everyone of you who have read my posts (and my ramble hahaha), liked and commented on my Instagram photos, followed me on all forms of social media, supported me, encouraged me, challenged me and most importantly have become my friends along the way. I am so grateful to each and everyone of you, no matter where you are in the world and no matter how much or little we have interacted, you are important to me.
I also want to express my gratitude to the Instagram skincare community. My god, you ladies and gentleman are an amazing bunch of people. You have made me laugh (@skintrovert I am looking at you), supported me through the times I have just wanted cry, kept me entertained when I have been bored, encouraged and enabled my skincare purchases, learned valuable lessons and have pretty much become an intricate part of my daily life. I just love how this community finds different ways to keep each other going and keep us all connected. Whether it be @antiagingamber and @morethanjustskin skincare challenges, the resounding and incredible support for when someone needs it most, sharing the love on a product that we absolutely couldn't live without or just simply an Instagram post or story on what is happening in our lives - this skincare community is one tight knit group and consists of an amazing bunch of people.
To the brands, companies and PR companies who I have had the opportunity to work with, get to know and ultimately respect - thank you for the privilege of sharing with me with your products, your knowledge, your passion, your time (especially when I ask 101 million questions) and your overall support. It really means the world to me and I appreciate every chance I get to interact with each and every one of you. I know you are all so busy running companies/campaigns/families, etc and I cannot thank you enough.
Finally, a huge thank you to the Mr. You put up with a lot - less bathroom space, stupid amounts of spending on skincare, putting up with my 'social media anti-socialness', scaring you with my various face masks, time spent writing blog posts and of course the time I spend taking my photos every morning and night. Thank you for your patience and for not wanting to break-up/divorce me for my skincare obsession, encouraging me and supporting me in every aspect of life, including this blog of mine. Thank you for being my rock, the person I can always count on and dealing with copious amounts of skincare in our bedroom and bathroom. I love you more than anything, you mean the world to me and I was so happy to become your wifey this year.
Some of you are probably wondering how will I be marking this one year milestone. Well, I am doing a few things to celebrate (if you haven't noticed), the blog has undergone a little bit of a new look (a HUGE thank you to the incredibly talented Dana Borthistle). I would also like to give back to you also as a little token of my appreciation - I will be posting some giveaways in the next coming few weeks, with the first starting...today! I actually wish I could individually give you all a little something to express my gratitude but realistically - that might be a little difficult both logistically and from a monetary perspective hahaha. Keep your eyes peeled and wishing you the best of luck if you do enter!
I know I am repeating myself when I say this but each and everyone of you have played an important part in my journey in the past 12 months. I am so thankful. You may think that your actions may have been small in terms of a simple like, follow or comment but trust me your impact has been huge for me. I cannot express my gratitude enough to all of you and for your support.
Again a huge resounding...THANK YOU!
